You’ve faced the ordeal and gone into your innermost fears, now it’s time for your reward!
This is the part of the hero’s journey we all like to talk about!
Andy Dufresne gets away with over $370k from the evil warden’s money laundering scheme, Odysseus returns home to his love after his 10-year journey, hordes of people come visit the Iowa cornfield where Ray Kinsella has built his baseball field.
The reward is fantastic, the reward is satisfying, the reward fulfills… but ONLY because we have gone through the first parts of the journey and faced the numerous challenges the journey entails.
The reward in and of itself is pretty simple and straightforward — you get a payday, your finish the book you’ve been writing forever, you sell the company and everyone makes out like kings and queens!
But the bigger question is, what are you going to do with it (more on that later)?
